With 41 counties in both Kansas and Missouri, and close to 200 partner sites, it is near impossible not to find something new to experience in Freedom’s Frontier. Our museums, historic sites, nature centers and businesses provide the space for visitors to have new and unique experiences. Whether it be a hike, a talk on an unfamiliar topic, or getting up close with an animal that isn’t your house pet, there can be a lot of new experiences in the Heritage Area!
Personally, I’ve experienced a lot of new things in the Heritage Area; I’ve run my first 5k race at Shoal Creek Living History Museum, helped make lye soap at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site, and even done a wine tasting in a historic general store at New Lancaster General Store.
